Dear friends of the Ötztaler Cycling Marathon,

once again we are ready to kick-off the registration period for the 2012 Ötztaler Cycling Marathon. Take your chance and register for the coveted starting places, which are drawn by lots, until 29 February 2012 at the latest. Between 01 and 29 February 2012 all passionate cycling fans who want to participate in the 2012 Marathon, can register online for a general fee of € 2.70 (inclusive of remittance and payment expenses). Credit card payments and remittance orders are accepted. Payment in foreign currencies is based on the current exchange rate.
Registrations made before or after this deadline are not valid.
Registrations can be made via our website www.oetztaler-radmarathon.com. The following data is required: first name, last name, address, date of birth and e-mail address.
The receipt of the fee will also be confirmed via e-mail.
RThe € 2.70 registration fee will not be refunded.
Our partner Datasport guarantees the maximum safety during the data transfer process.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGISTRATION
It is possible to register as a single person, a mini group (2-4 cyclists) or a whole team (5 to 35 cyclists). Special registration forms for groups are provided. Additionally, the entire fee of € 2.70 per person has to be paid in a single transaction.

NEW: The maximum Team participants are 35 cyclists.
Participants who register several times are not accepted and deleted from the start list.

LIMITED NUMBER OF STARTING PLACES

In the first drawing round 5000 starting places are available for the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon 2012. The percentage of starting places for single registrations, small groups and teams (max. 35 participants) will be calculated only at the very end of the registration period according to the real number of registered persons. Example: if 65% register as single participants also 65% of starting places will be drawn for single registrations.

The organizing committee of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon reserves the right to give away further 500 starting places (media, sponsors, etc.) which are not part of the official drawing. The maximum number of participants for the 2012 Ötztaler Cycle Marathon is 4000. This means that in the course of postponed drawings of starting places a smaller number of starters will have the chance to take part in the drawing. Already in the first drawing more than the limited number of participants will be taken and cancellations do not happen very frequently.

• Those who have unsuccessfully registered in the last two years (2010 and 2011) and did not receive any other starting place (transfer of starting place etc.) receive a guaranteed starting place in the 2012 marathon. These starting places are not part of the drawing, they are not transferable to other cyclists.

DRAW OF STARTING PLACES

The main drawing takes place on Tuesday, 06 March 2012.
All cyclists with a starting place are published on the official Ötztaler Cycle Marathon homepage the same day and will be contacted by e-mail. Also check your spam folder!
The second drawing takes place on Friday, 04 May 2012 - A valid registration (until 29 February 2012) is absolutely required for the second drawing.

ENTRY FEE

The standard entry fee amounts to € 98.00 + € 10.00 chip deposit which will be refunded on return of the chip. The entry fee already comprises the follwoing services:

PASSING ON OF STARTING PLACES
It is possible to give the already paid starting place to another registered person who signed up regularly in February 2012. The service charge is € 15. Changes of participants can be made exclusively at the organizing committee between 21 May 2012 and 02 July 2012. A special form is available on request, the organizing committee can send it to the substitute participant. All starting places subject to special conditions - e.g. sponsors, media and press representatives, promotions and quiz games, organizers' specials - and all starting places mentioned in point 4 are not transferable to third parties.

WITHDRAWAL
In general no refund is granted if the registered cyclist is not able to participate in the race and cancels his entry. Those who register online can take advantage of the cancellation insurance which refunds the entire entry fee and the chip deposit with a Datasport Voucher if the entry has to be cancelled due to injuries or illness. Please take a closer look at the insurance terms and conditions.
For cancellations not covered by insurance the following conditions apply: in case of a written cancellation sent directly to the organizer until 13 July 2012 the entry fee will be refunded. The deposit of € 10 for the chip will not be given back. The starting place is not valid for next year's marathon!

TEAM RANKING - JACKPOT
Teams and clubs with a minimum of 5 participants are allowed to take part in the team competition. The entry fee for teams for admission to the team ranking amounts to € 100 per team and must be paid already at the registration. All these receipts will be given as prize money to the 5 best teams: first place 45%; second place 25%; third place 15%; fourth place 10%; fifth place 5%.
PLEASE NOTE: A team registration is absolutely necessary to take part in the team ranking!
