GAISLACHKOGL LIFT 3.058 m

The Gaislachkogl lift is the largest double cable lift in the world. Comprised of two sections of 1,370 m to 3,041 m. There is a wonderful panorama restaurant and sun terrace up at the mountain station. (3,041 m) with a breathtaking all-round view of the mountains and glaciers in the Ötztaler and Stubaier Alps, right down to the South Tyrolean Dolomites and Ortler area.
 

GLACIER ROAD 1.377 - 2.800 m

The 15 km long Ötztaler Glacier road is one of the highest roads in the Eastern Alps, connecting Sölden (1,377 m) with the glacier ski regions in Rettenbach- and the Tiefenbach glaciers at over 2,800 m. Every curve of the road offers a new breathtaking view. The glacier tunnel is (tunnel patron Rosi Mittermaier) the highest road tunnel in the Alps, and connects both ski regions at an altitude of 2.800 metres and a length of 1,7 km.

Road and tunnel have been built to accommodate two lanes in each direction, and the average incline is 11 %, and therefore of no problem for cars or busses. Snow chains in winter months are advisable, as it can snow quite unexpectedly in these high alpine climates. The road is only open when considered not dangerous (avalanches). This can sometimes mean that a second road block is possible.
Toll: This in only exacted from non-skiers! All skiers with a valid ski ticket may use the road for free!

MOUNTAINEER'S VILLAGE VENT, 1.900 m

Dominated by Tyrol's highest mountain, the Wildspitze, 3,774 m. The Rofenhöfe, the highest settlements in the Eastern Alps with its 46 m long suspension bridge over the 31 m deep Rofner gully, the famous warm-blood stud farm or the place where "Ötzi" was originally discovered Tiesenjoch, 3,200 m.
