The hike from Sölden to Hochstubaihütte (3174m) on Wildkarspitze has a climb of 1,800 meters – not exactly chickenfeed! Leave Sölden towards the hamlet of Granbichl. At the parking lot pick up the trail to Kleblealm which you will reach after approx. 1.5 hrs. This exceptionally quaint little hut is an ideal place to take a break and have a bite to eat before tackling the rest of the hike. From the hut the trail climbs gradually above Windachtal and up to Laubkar with pretty Lake Laubkarsee – a scenic gem! From now on the trail travels through rocky terrain. After the lake the trail climbs steeply and then levels out heading east. Along the way you have two cross two easy snow fields – no crampons required. The trail climbs one last steep section before reaching Hochstubaihütte.
Option: you could save 1.5 hours by taking the bus to Kleblealm.
