The Siegerland Hütte The hut is high above the Windachtal in the Stubaier Alps on 2.710 metres and not far from the border to South Tyrol. It also has his own climbing garden. The hut was built in 1928/29 and opened in 1930. The owner is the DAV, section Siegerland. Every year the section renovates and renews the hut, which is very neat. The Siegerland Refuge is of course not the oldest hut and not the most comfortable one, but we are sure, it is one of the most beautiful huts in the Stubaier Alps. The hut extinguish with it’s simplicity- but please believe- the "Kaiserschmarrn" never tasted better than up in the mountains. The hut has 23 beds and 26 dorm mattresses.

Ascent with Giggijoch mountain gondola or by bus to Hochsölden and then along trail No. 35a Dr. Bachmann Weg - Peerler See - Alpe Granstein - Jausenstation Hochwald - Granstein - Sölden, time: approx. 3 1/2 h, altitude gain: 380 m
• cycle trail Brück - Hochwald

Similaunhütte was built over 100 years ago and is a popular base for peak climbs. The site where "Ötzi” the Iceman was found is only a 1-hour walk from the hut.

Winter: ski tour from Vent to the hut; highest base for the classic Ötztal ski mountaineering loop. altitude gain: 1,120 m, length: 14 km, time: 5 h

Crossings: Hauslabjoch - Schöne Aussicht, Saykogel - Hochjoch-Hospiz, crossing from north Tirol into South Tirol (also for mountainbikers)

The Martin Busch Hütte is located at 2,501 m at the heart of a striking mountain backdrop and with views of the powerful 3,00 0 m peaks and panoramic views of the Ötztal glaciers.

To the hut: via Spieglbach bridge left into niedertal valley, altitude gain: 600 m, length: 9 km, time: 3 h

Fiegl's Hütte on Windachalm 1985m:

Visit our Fiegl's Hütte in the romantic Windachtal,

better known as "LITTLE CANADA" among mountain and hunting aficionados.

Approx. 1h45min. walking time from Sölden. It's also possible to take the bus line from Sölden to us. The bus stops approx. 500m in front of our hut. For bike aficionados there are plenty of singletrail routes in all difficulties leading from and to the hut.

Tasty dishes, refreshing drinks and a cozy spot with a great view right to the Stubai and Ötztal Alps...Fiegl's Hütte...amidst "Sölden's quiet part". It's the starting point for scenic mountain hikes e.g. to the "Zuckerhütl", the highest mountain in the Stubai Alps, as well as various hut hikes: Hochstubaihütte 4-5h, Siegerlandhütte 3h, Hildesheimerhütte 3h and Brunnenkogelhaus 3h, Kleble Alm 2h.

However, if these tours are too demanding, you can also hike leisurely in the Windachtal - without high gradients - on a comfortable hiking path. Or you just enjoy this border valley between the Ötztaler and Stubai Alps in Fiegl's Hütte, with cake and coffee.
