The hiking paradise of Sölden also has a marvelous winter season: 49.5 km of cleared, signposted winter hiking trails take walkers straight through snow-covered forests, white meadows and along Ötztaler Ache mountain brook. Adventure-seeking vacationers grab their snowshoes and listen to the crunching snow under their feet while lively Sölden disappears in the background. Trudging  through the untouched white either on your own or accompanied by a local guide you will take new insights on the way to rustic mountain huts.

TEÄRE LINE has already become a little legend among bikers who love playful and varied lines. This ultimate Flow Trail leads from the middle station of Gaislachkogl Mountain Gondola straight down to the village center, featuring wall ride, a superb wooden snail and some 130 flowing turns that remind of surfing on two wheels. TEÄRE LINE promises a maximum of fun also for less experienced bikers while many waves and turns offer action-packed downhill biking for pros.

You keep to right at the middle station of Gaislachkogl Mountain Gondola, after about 150 meters you reach the access to the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN. First you follow EEBME LINE (6005) towards the start of TEÄRE LINE (6003). The almost 6 km long TEÄRE LINE boasts 130 turns until you reach the base station of Mittelstation Chair Lift. Now you can choose between the highly demanding Schtecklar Trail (6013), leading down to the Pump Track Rolling next to the base station Gaislachkogl Mountain Gondola, or the asphalt road to the gondola station.

Arriving by Train

Enjoy a comfortable and relaxing train ride to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof. The public bus lines to all holiday resorts in the valley (direction Obergurgl) leave directly in front of the train station. The bus ride to Sölden takes about 1 – 1.5 hours.

Sölden is located in the West of Austria, more exactly in the Province of TIROL. It nestles amidst the ÖTZTAL Valley, a south-facing side valley of the Inntal.

Best travel route from the West:

From Vorarlberg to Tirol via Arlberg Pass or through Arlberg Tunnel (S 16 Federal Road) - direction Landeck - change to A 12 Autobahn (direction Innsbruck) - exit: Ötztal after driving through Roppener Tunnel - on B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

From the North:

- Bad Tölz - Achen Pass - B 181 Federal Road - Jenbach - A 12 Autobahn towards Innsbruck (direction Bregenz) - exit: Ötztal - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

Parking

There are ample parking areas and covered parking garages at the base stations of Gaislachkogl and Giggijoch Mountain Gondolas. Parking is free of charge between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm!
