After all, the way to the skiers' paradise leads along the scenic Ötztal Glacier Road, the highest asphalt road in the Eastern Alps.
Top Material FOR TESTING AND BUYING
For the first time from autumn 2021, Sölden will offer end customers the possibility of permanent ski tests. In the new GLACIER TEST CENTER SÖLDEN at Rettenbach Glacier, more than 600 pairs of the latest ski models from all well-known manufacturers - exclusively from the top segment - are available for hire.
The Salomon Station also has all of the equipment you need on the slopes - skis, snowboards, boots and helmets - conveniently for renting and testing. Special promotions for weekly or family rentals go easy on the holiday budget while professional advice and free exchange options promise smooth skiing days.
The two Riml sports shops on the glacier have the latest ski models in stock - plus everything related to what's trendy this winter. The sports shops and ski rental spots are happy to give you the opportunity to extensively test the latest material. Those who are still undecided can take it one step at a time.
GLACIER GASTRONOMY
The taste is the same for all ski resort fans, but not necessarily when it comes to lunch. But that shouldn't be a problem when choosing restaurants! The restaurants at Rettenbachferner and Tiefenbachferner and the Amer Station spoil winter sports enthusiasts at all levels. From freshly cooked Tirolean specialties, Ötztal treats, pizza, pasta or sweet pastries to cool drinks and snacks, the glacier gastronomy has everything on offer. It tastes best on the sun-kissed terrace or in one of the rustic wood-paneled parlors. The pleasant tiredness after skiing and the picture-book views make the food and drinks taste even better.

AUTUMN
The Sölden glacier ski area is not only a training hotspot for the Alpine ski world cup stars, also the yearly season opening takes place here on occasion of the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup in late October. Start the ski season just in time with the ski stars at a great event with a lot of good mood! Or hit the perfectly groomed slopes as an early bird already in mid-September.
SPRING
What's better than skiing? Sunshine, pleasant temperatures AND skiing! Those who prefer to avoid snow flurries and bitterly cold temperatures should go sunshine skiing on the glacier in spring.
