Zwieselstein
TRANQUIL & SPECIAL
This is where Ötztal “forks off”: in Zwieselstein, a few kilometers south of Sölden, the main valley forks into Venter and Gurgler side valleys. This tranquil village at 1,470 m is away from the hustle and bustle and at the same time in a perfect starting location. In just a few minutes you reach Sölden, Vent and Gurgl - or you can just stay here and enjoy the quiet village and its historic buildings, old farms and the little church dating back to 1747.
IN ALL DIRECTIONS
The challenge in Zwieselstein? The variety of choices! Where should you go skiing in winter when you have the choice between Sölden, Gurgl and Vent? Or in summer, when there are so many bike trails, hiking paths and alpine climbs on your doorstep? From short tours to long-distance hikes (e.g. along Ötztaler Urweg or E5 European long-distance hiking trail), you can do everything here. But one thing is for sure: you will find peace and regeneration back in Zwieselstein.
