So much variety on the plate is a feast for mountaineers, downhill bikers and all the rest. The restaurants in Sölden, Zwieselstein and Vent serve traditional dishes from the region as well as Austrian, Italian, Asian, vegetarian or organic cuisine. No matter if you are yearning for hearty Tirolean home cooking or an exquisite gourmet menu, the right dining spot can be found just around the corner. Accompanied by the passion for fine wines. It is not without reason that Sölden is known for its excellent wine culture.
The 15 km long Ötztaler Glacier road is one of the highest roads in the Eastern Alps, connecting Sölden (1,377 m) with the glacier ski regions in Rettenbach- and the Tiefenbach glaciers at over 2,800 m. Every curve of the road offers a new breathtaking view. The glacier tunnel is (tunnel patron Rosi Mittermaier) the highest road tunnel in the Alps, and connects both ski regions at an altitude of 2.800 metres and a length of 1,7 km.
