LVS Training

Professional preparation for off-piste

Freeride, off-piste and ski touring are growing in popularity year after year. The slopes in the ski areas are perfectly groomed and save but off the beaten track everyone is responsible for themselves.

Even the best equipment fails if you do not know how to use it.
As soon as someone gets under an avalanche every second counts. Without the help of the non-buried colleagues the chances of survival decrease.

Every movement in the first 15 minutes has to match.

This requires training andexperience. More than 10 years ago, I founded the first LVS Training and Test Center in Lenggries am Brauneck, Germany. The aim was to support alpine safety and offer the participants the opportunity to test the rescue equipment which is available on the market.

The theory is teached in the morning and in the afternoon the participants practice under the supervision and guidance of a UIAA certified mountain guide. The best equipment is the one you can use to find a victim quickly.

It is not the goal to sell equipment, but to provide a platform for the participant to find the ideal equipment and purchase it at a sport shop. In addition, there is the possibility of testing the devices that are already purchased.

The LVS Training & Test Center will be located at the restaurant Schwarzkogel. The training ground is placed directly in front of it. Using a state-of-the-art, computer-controlled system, all scenarios of a avalanche can be trained in a practical way.

The training starts at 9.00 am at the restaurant Schwarzkogel. After the theory briefing, the participants go straight to the training field, where we practice until lunch break.

After the break, we go to the off piste area. Recognizing dangers, avoiding and minimizing risks and exploring the free ski area are the focus in the afternoon. At the end all participants receive a certificate.
