The Sölden glacier ski area, comprising the two glaciers of Rettenbachferner and Tiefenbachferner, traditionally opens its doors in mid-September or early October. The ski season on Sölden's glacier lasts until late April or early May. The winter ski area of Sölden, on the other hand, opens its doors already in mid-November. In general, the first winter ski areas in Austria start the ski season at the end of November or the beginning of December. However, autumn skiing on the glacier starts earlier.
