Sölden - Heartbeat of the Alps

Sölden is internationally renowned for its action on and off the slopes. The World Cup venue boasts a huge ski area with absolute snow reliability, which is the only one in Austria that has opened up three peaks higher than three thousand meters. Skiers and snowboarders reach the 144 immaculate slope kilometers with the two most powerful feeder mountain gondolas worldwide. Countless big events are scheduled from October to early May, promising exuberant party mood throughout the season.

Accommodations for all budgets and a huge variety of leisure activities make Sölden the ultimate place to be for sports lovers. Undoubtedly: Sölden is young, hip and sometimes loud but it has also a quite different side. In Sölden's quiet part you'll find quaint mountain huts, romantic winter hiking trails and toboggan runs where authentic Tirolean coziness and nature exploration are in the foreground.

As its name suggests, the mountain village of Hochsölden towers high above its famous brother and offers luxurious ski-in and ski-out skiing at lovely four-star hotels, bed and breakfast or apartment houses. Virtually everything is available for a successful winter holiday: sports shops, ski rental stations, ski kindergarten and ski schools as well as restaurants, heaps of sunshine and a special flair. If you would like to be the first on freshly groomed slopes, Hochsölden is the perfect place. Meanwhile also your car enjoys a break in the local underground car park.

This small settlement occupies the only splace possible in the narrow basin south of Sölden, where the main valley forks off. A tranquil spot where the original is still preserved and culture is upheld. Many historic Tirolean buildings and a small church dating back to 1747 invite you to enjoy a lovely walk through the village. The advantages of modern lifestyle, however, always remain the same: excellent bus connections pave the way to the large ski areas of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl and Sölden within a few minutes' drive.

The village at the end of Ötztal has only 150 inhabitants and a famous local mountain: Tirol's highest peak, Wildspitze stretching up to imposing 3774 m altitude. Those heading for this secluded mountain village have good reason to do so: Vent is the unrivaled starting point for the legendary Vent Loop Trail for ski mountaineers and many other high Alpine winter tours. Alpine skiers enjoy 15 km of family-friendly ski runs without hustle and bustle, featuring a double chairlift and three T-bar lifts. The certified instructors of the Vent ski school take care of young and older guests of all abilities, providing useful advice and action on the slopes. 3.5 km of cross-country skiing tracks and a 5 km long toboggan run promise fun off the beaten ski slopes.
