Weather conditions
We are located at the front of a powerful low-pressure system centred north of Ireland. A pronounced temporary high-pressure system is building over Central Europe, which is also determining our weather conditions. At the same time, air masses are flowing in from the south-west.
Weather pattern
Sunday will bring plenty of sunshine and stable weather conditions. In the morning, the sun will often shine uninterrupted from a blue or at most slightly cloudy sky. In the afternoon, a few cumulus clouds will develop over the mountains, but these will remain harmless. The risk of rain showers or thunderstorms is very low until the evening and is below 10 per cent in many places. The mostly light to moderate wind will shift to south to south-west, causing foehn effects on the northern side of the Alps. Temperatures will be cool in the morning but will reach late summer levels in the valleys in the afternoon.
Conclusion for the race: the conditions are actually ideal!
