General information

EMF26 takes place from 14 to 18 April 2026 in the Sölden ski area. Sölden is located in Ötztal valley in Austria's province of Tirol. From 13 to 15 April 2026, Festival Specials and Premium Partys will be held at several locations spread across the ski area. The main days on 16 and 17 April 2026, take place at the festival stage near the top station of Giggijoch gondola lift. On 18 April 2026, another Festival Special will be held in the ski area to sign the end of the festival week.

The locations for the Festival Specials are currently being finalized - more detailed information on the venues and how to get there will follow shortly. The main days take place at Giggijoch at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, near the top station of Giggijoch gondola lift which can be reached as a pedestrian or skier.

About the Festival

Yes, the festival will take place as usual even in snowfall or typical winter weather conditions. In case of severe weather, storm or strong winds, we reserve the right to change the program at short notice or cancel the event entirely for safety reasons - we will keep you up to date on our communication channels.

Yes, photos and videos will be taken for marketing purposes and recaps (highlight videos, etc.). Please refer to our general terms & conditions. 

No, bringing your own food and drinks is not permitted in the cordoned-off festival area at Giggijoch. Backpacks and similar items will be checked during admission control.

Of course! Several food and drink stalls as well as Giggijoch Wirtshaus restaurant will cater to your needs within the festival area. Please note: due to admission checkpoints, the food and drink zones within the festival area are only accessible with a festival ticket, not for regular skiers!

Your safety is our top priority! Therefore, a comprehensive safety concept, including an emergency plan, has been developed. Admission checkpoints at the cordoned-off festival area provide additional security. Of course emergency doctors, police officers and other emergency services are on site to assist you or intervene if necessary.

Yes, within the festival area you will find toilets at Giggijoch Wirtshaus restaurant and there are also several toilet cabins spread across the party area.

Please note that bringing the following items is strictly prohibited as such items will be immediately confiscated during admission checks or you will be denied entry:

  • Poles and sticks as well as all objects that can be used to hit, slash, cut and throw 
  • Glass containers, cans, PET bottles
  • Drones, pyrotechnics, fire, weapons, laser pointers
  • Narcotics
  • Baby strollers and animals

Yes, on the two main days (16 - 17 April 2026), there will be admission control points at the cordoned-off festival area where the main stage is located. This allows us to better manage the flow of visitors throughout the ski area while guaranteeing your safety.

Yes, on both main days you can buy merchandise at the EMF Shop located at Giggijoch Wirtshaus restaurant - detailed information about the exact location, opening hours and product range will be available HERE soon. Please note that EMF merchandise is only available on site on both main days (no online shipping!) and only while stocks last.

The VIP Area on both main days (16 - 17 April 2026) is located on the terraces of Giggijoch Wirtshaus restaurant (ground and upper floors), where you can enjoy the VIP SUSCHI & BEATS package. Scenic ice Q gourmet restaurant on Gaislachkogl summit hosts the Premium ice Q VIP Experience at over 3,000 meters (15 April 2026). New this year: the Festival Special at FALCON Restaurant (13 April 2026) next to Gaislachkogl gondola middle station will also feature a VIP Area. Lost items - if found - can be collected after the mountain lifts have closed at the ticket office of Giggijoch gondola base station and at the info point of Gaislachkogl gondola base station. The municipality of Sölden also has a lost & found office.

There are no lockers within the festival area. However, you can book ski storage lockers at the sports shops on site (for example, Giggijoch gondola top station) or in the valley. You can find a complete overview of all Sölden ski rental shops HERE.

Hotel Das Central is hosting the official after-show party: ticket information will follow shortly. More after-show parties will take place at several locations in Sölden - more detailed information will be available soon.

Yes, the EMF Full Festival Experience Package includes 7 nights' accommodation, a 6-day skipass for the Sölden ski area, admission on both main days as well as optional add-ons: you can find all the information about the package HERE.

Regular tickets for EMF26 can be purchased on our website from 01 December 2025. The EMF Full Festival Experience Package can already be booked HERE. Please note that all ticket types are limited - you can find information about the ticket categories HERE.

VIP Tickets are available for the two main days (16 - 17 April 2026). These tickets, called VIP SUSCHI & BEATS, include admission to the festival area, uphill & downhill ride on Giggijoch gondola lift and access to the VIP Area - including a reserved seat with a view of the festival stage and culinary treats comprising sushi specialties.

Scenic ice Q gourmet restaurant on Gaislachkogl summit hosts the Premium ice Q VIP Experience at over 3,000 meters (15 April 2026). This truly exclusive party makes a unique experience and includes a special DJ set, culinary treats and drinks as well uphill & downhill ride on Gaislachkogl gondola lift.

New I: This year, VIP Tickets are also available for the Festival Special at FALCON Restaurant (13 April 2026) at Gaislachkogl gondola middle station. Such tickets include a reserved seat on the terrace or inside with a view of the stage, a signature welcome drink, a flying aperitif & dry-aged beef specials as well uphill & downhill ride on Gaislachkogl gondola lift.

On the event days, 16 and 17 April 2026, beginner tickets, half-day tickets (from 11:00 / from 12:00 / from 13:00), as well as mountain and valley ride tickets will not be available. Regular full-day ski passes will still be available and can be purchased in the ski ticket shop or at the Sölden mountain lift ticket offices.

You do not have a right of withdrawal when purchasing a skipass. Therefore, skipasses cannot be canceled. In case you have purchased a skipass with cancellation guarantee, it can be canceled up to 5 days prior to the first day of skiing. Festival tickets and combined tickets are also excluded from the right of withdrawal and cannot be canceled - you can find the general terms & conditions of Bergbahnen Sölden Lift Company HERE.

There are no replacements or refunds for lost skipasses, festival tickets or combined tickets. In this case, you will unfortunately have to purchase a new skipass or ticket - you can find the general terms & conditions of Bergbahnen Sölden Lift Company HERE.

Skipasses can only be exchanged up to five days prior to the first day of skiing if a cancellation guarantee has been taken out. Festival tickets and combined tickets cannot be exchanged - you can find the general terms & conditions of Bergbahnen Sölden Lift Company HERE.

A strictly limited number of tickets will be available on site at the ticket office of Giggijoch gondola lift and directly at the entrance to the festival area on the two main days (16 - 17 April 2026).

No, skipasses, festival tickets and combined tickets are personalized and non-transferable tickets.

Getting there

Several routes and means of transport will take you to Ötztal-Bahnhof at the valley entrance and further on to Sölden. Valley-wide public transport lines run every 30 minutes. From the valley floor in Sölden, Giggijoch gondola lift will take you directly to the festival area on the two main days (16 - 17 April 2026). The lifts and mountain gondolas in the Sölden ski area have different operating hours. Our current lift status shows the detailed operating hours and information about the last downhill rides HERE - simply click on the respective mountain lift for more details.
