The red (intermediate) panorama hike starts at Tiefenbach Glacier high above the village of Sölden and is also suitable for families and leisurely mountain hikers. From the starting point at about 2800 m above sea level, the approximately 11 km long trail leads down to the mountaineering village of Vent at 1900 m: most of the downhill meters await you in the last third of the tour. Before that, the magnificent route travels from the glacier fields towards the slopes of Mutboden, Weisskar and Sonnenberg straight to lush Alpine meadows. What's best, superb vantage points await you at every turn. Always in view: Weißkamm crest and the ridges of Nederkogel up to Großer Ramolkogel located opposite.
If you are there already in the early morning hours, you will be rewarded with magic light in an atmospheric mood - an absolute mountain solitude. But also a little later the trail is pleasantly calm and not much frequented. Hikers reach a true highlight at Weißkar where a green mountain lake nestles in a natural basin. After approximately 4.5 hours of walking time, the lovely inns in the quaint mountaineering village of Vent are just perfect to regain new strength and pass this exciting day in review over a couple of local delicacies.
Special tip: Set out for the High Altitude Panorama Trail only in very stable weather conditions as there is no possibility to return to the valley at an earlier point.
With the Ötztal Inside Summer Card the bus rides from Sölden to Tiefenbach Glacier and the return journey from Vent are free of charge.
