Scenically magnificent, technically demanding, and super varied: The black, 4-kilometer-long Nene is one of the dream nature trails in the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN!
The Nene Trail starts left of the Gaislachkogl mid-station and runs above the tree line with sensational views of the Ötztal three-thousanders. However, you should keep your eyes well on the trail, because it is demanding – especially when it is wet, as it often is in the upper part. The nature trail is an old path – and therefore named after the Ötztal dialect word for grandfather – it starts off stony and often slippery, then it descends into the forest and becomes rooty, wild, steep, and rocky.
Above the Löple Alm, the trail briefly joins the toboggan run (a wide forest road) before turning back into a single trail in the forest. Pay attention to the signs. For the finale, it runs parallel to the toboggan run with Northshore elements. The BROATE LINE and the Schteckler Trail bring you back to the Pumptrack ROLLIN in the valley.
The Nene Trail is part of the Long Trail Fernar and the route Enduro Goldegg K.
Please watch out for hikers!
Author’s recommendation
The Nene Trail is nearly 4 km long – so definitely make a stop & visit the Goldegg Alm or Löple Alm.

Safety information
The Nene Trail is a black trail and thus very demanding! It requires very good riding technique, fitness, and a lot of attention.
In the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN, it's all about shared fun in bike sport – no matter what your riding level is. Be considerate and support each other. And behave just as respectfully towards all other people on the mountain and in the valley – and the nature.
–> Stay on the paved and signposted paths. Do not ride over open meadows!
–> Avoid locking the rear wheel and help preserve the trails.
–> Be considerate of animals & close the pasture gates. There can always be cows on the trails and lines. Ride cautiously and keep your distance!
–> Please note: Hikers are also on the nature trails of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN. Ride carefully, stop, give way considerately and greet nicely.
