More than just a bike park for children and families

Families in flow

Nothing is better than a family holiday where great unity rules and everyone wants the same thing: biking! Right from the very beginning, the Bike Republic's vision was to make everyone feel at home. Therefore age doesn't matter for our citizens. The kids* are just as much official citizens with their own passport, the right to have a say and - of course – superb trails and bike facilities to let off steam - even on a balance bike.

*Please note: children up to 10 years old are only allowed to use the bike trails with the consent of their legal guardian and if accompanied by a supervising person.

Pump tracks & practice area

Our pump tracks are extremely popular with all kids (and adults). Here you can ride endless circles and practice your bike handling perfectly. Sölden even boasts two pump tracks: Rolling and Sunny. Youngsters can further hone their biking and braking techniques in the free practice area at the end of Schtirggar Line on 400 m² where they can try their first mini drops and banked turns.

If you want to look beyond Sölden, you will find other practicing bike spots spread across the valley, such as the MTB course in Umhausen or scenic Ötztaler Höhe Trail Center. Special tip: You can reach these spots on your saddle in a relaxed and safe manner using the Ötztal Cycle Trail!

Paint it blue: easy lines

You wouldn't believe how quickly your kids will be ready for the trails of the Bike Republic. Our easy blue lines are perfect for their first trail rides. The 1.3 km long Schtirggar Line, which can be reached (and used) free of charge with the Zentrum Shuttle, is perfect for the first dirt ride as it features a wide lane, gentle gradient, long rollers and slightly banked turns.

Even the other blue lines throughout the bike nation are extremely fun while improving biking skills, enhancing confidence and making rapid progress - all in a jaw-dropping alpine landscape!

Know-wow: bike schools & guides

Because everything at Bike Republic is geared towards community, our bike schools & guides have been offering special courses for kids already for years. It's a bit like ski schools in winter: you can drop your kids off at the course, pick them up and they will outdo you soon! Instruction is available to the very young from 3 years onwards, to rookies and even to teen riders up to 14 years. Special tip: in our Adventure Shop you will find countless exciting bookable bike adventures, including kids' courses and bike taster days.

Après-bike options for families

Of course, there are plenty of things to do in the valley that kids love, even when you are not on the bike saddle. For example, after biking you can visit the Ötzi Village or the Birds of Prey Park in Umhausen - perhaps followed by a stop at nearby Ötztalerei where ice cream is made from fine local ingredients. Or you take the gondola lift up to the adventurous WIDIVERSUM in Hochoetz - maybe followed by tasty Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes) at Bielefelder Hütte...

It's all go: Bike Republic events

The festivals, parties and celebrations at the Bike Republic also offer exciting (side) events for families with children: MTB freestyle shows performed by renowned stars of the scene or biking technique courses for young and old provide variety on the saddle. And even beyond that.
