Getting there, parking & closed roads
Find out more about travel routes & parking options during the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon here, also get to know which roads are closed and when. On race day (Sunday, 31 Aug 2025), a special bus schedule will also be available within the valley!
Getting there
Several routes and means of transport conveniently lead to Ötztal-Bahnhof at the valley entrance and further on to Sölden - general information on how to get there can be found HERE.
Please note that traveling to Sölden (both from Inntal valley or via Timmelsjoch pass) is generally possible on the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon race day (31 Aug 2025), but is restricted due to road closures! HERE you can find out when and which sections of the marathon course are closed to traffic.

And again: please pay attention to the roads closed to public traffic on Sunday, 31 Aug 2025, and plan your journey(s) accordingly - we (and all the athletes) thank you for your understanding!
Special bus schedule on Sun, 31 Aug 2025
On the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon race day (Sun, 31 Aug 2025), there will be restrictions on scheduled bus services due to the road closures mentioned above - a special bus timetable will apply!
Parking options
During the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon weekend, (special) parking areas are available in Sölden from Fri, 29 Aug 2025 - Mon, 01 Sep 2025. Here you will find a complete overview of all parking options:
- Meadow parking area next to Shell gas station | Dorfstraße 2 | 6450 Sölden (free of charge)
- Meadow parking area behind Hotel Sölderhof | Waldelestraße 2 | 6450 Sölden (free of charge)
- Parking garages and parking areas at Giggijoch and Gaislachkogl gondola base stations
- Free parking from Fri, 29 Aug - Sun, 31 August 2025 (from 4:00 to 22:00 each day) and on Mon, 01 Sep 2025, from 4:00 to 12:00 noon.
Good to know
Nighttime parking is strictly forbidden:
Please note that there is a strict nighttime parking ban in the Bergbahnen Sölden parking areas:
- Daily from 22:00 to 4:00
- Stopping & parking absolutely prohibited during this period
Info: The special parking areas (meadow parking zones) are not subject to the nighttime parking ban from Sat, 30 Aug 2025 - Sun, 31 Aug 2025, so that visitors and guests leaving on Sunday, 31 Aug 2025, can park their private cars there.
Camping not allowed:
- Any camping is strictly prohibited in ALL parking areas (special parking areas & Bergbahnen Sölden parking zones) and will be prosecuted.
License plate registration & control:
- All entrances to Bergbahnen Sölden parking areas are under video surveillance (license plate registration)!
- Please note the free parking periods; violations outside of these permitted times will be prosecuted and charged in your home country afterwards.
Important: Please also note that the parking areas and the parking garage at Freizeit Arena Sölden will be closed from Wed, 27 Aug - Tue, 02 Sep 2025! All the rest of the parking space management (short-term parking zones) will remain in place as usual.
