In memory of the patron saint of the parish of Vent, the Apostle James the Elder, we celebrate the patronage on July 25 in Vent. This day - also known as James' Day (St. James, shortly Jacob or Jakobi) - has been documented as a feast day for James the Elder since the 8th century. In Vent, this special day is always celebrated on a Sunday - in summer 2027 on Sunday, July 18. At 10.00 a.m., we begin with a solemn service. Afterwards, a procession takes place through the village, and prayers are said for a year free from disasters. On this day, special Ötztal specialties are served in the restaurants.
Holy Mass at 10.00 a.m. followed by a procession with musical accompaniment by the Sölden brass band.
