High above Sölden lies the tranquil Windachtal – a place where nature still sets its own rhythm. Our hike begins with a bus ride to Fiegl’s inn. From here, the trail leads through the Windachtal nature forest reserve, where up to 300-year-old stone pines and larches grow and the forest is allowed to develop freely. Along flower-rich mountain meadows and past the traditional Ötztal mountain huts – the Thayen – we discover the diversity of alpine nature. Thanks to successful conservation and rewilding projects, the majestic bearded vulture is once again circling above the valley. Together with our nature guide, we enjoy the impressive views of the glaciated peaks and experience a calm, untouched side of Sölden.
