Summer: open from 13.06.2026 to 24.09.2026 (the hut closes in the morning)
Winter: from approximately 06.03.26 to 26.04.26 (when the hut is closed, there is no winter room)
Over 100 years ago, the Similaun Hut was built and is a popular base for summit ascents. The site of "Ötzi" is about 1 hour away.
To the hut: from Vent through the Niedertal over the Martin-Busch Hut - over the glacier, altitude difference: 1,120, length: 14 km, duration: 4 h
Crossings: Hauslabjoch - Beautiful View, Saykogel - Hochjoch-Hospiz, crossing from North to South Tyrol.
